Although any of the remedies in the range of Echinaforce^® Echinacea drops or tablets can be used to treat sore throats, this remedy has a specially designed nozzle and spray pump, designed to deliver echinacea and sage extracts to the painful and irritated parts at the back of the throat. It is convenient to use and does not require water to take.

Echinaforce^® Sore Throat spray is part of the Echinaforce^® range of herbal remedies for colds and flu.

The benefit of using freshly harvested plant material to make our herbal remedies has been demonstrated in research – extracts of echinacea produced from fresh plants contain almost 3 times more active substances compared to those prepared from equivalent amounts of dried herb.*

Our Sore Throat spray may be used by adults (over 18 years of age) and the elderly. As a sore throat remedy, place the nozzle just inside the mouth, point it towards the back of the throat and press the pump to spray. Use two sprays, six to ten times daily. Do not breathe in during application.

Echinaforce^® Sore Throat spray comes in a bottle with a specially designed pump spray: ·

• Before first use, activate the spray by pressing the pump 2 or 3 times. To use the spray, shake the bottle well, place the nozzle just inside the mouth, pointing towards the back of the throat and press the pump.

As with other sore throat remedies, do not use this product to treat your sore throat for longer than 7 days. This is because if your symptoms persist for this period of time, you should see a doctor or other healthcare practitioner.

Echinaforce^® Sore Throat spray is part of our range of herbal remedies for treating the symptoms of colds and flu. It is available in a 30ml bottle, with a specially designed spray nozzle which delivers the herbal extracts to the back of the throat. It has a cooling, minty flavour.

Each 1ml of Echinaforce^® Sore Throat spray contains:

• 863.3mg of tincture from fresh Echinacea purpurea herb
• 45.5mg of tincture from fresh Echinacea purpurea root
• 430mg of tincture from fresh Sage leaves

This herbal remedy also contains sorbitol (407mg), ethanol (370mg), soy lecithin (20mg), peppermint oil (5.0mg) and sucrose laurate (5mg).

Echinacea is native to North America but now cultivated extensively in Europe. It is one of our most popular herbs and used traditionally to treat the symptoms of colds and flu, including sore throats. Sage is also one of our best known traditional remedies. It too has a history of use for treating sore throats.

The plants used to produce Echinaforce^® Sore Throat spray are cultivated organically in Switzerland at our own herb farms.

Do not use Echinaforce^® Sore Throat spray if you are:

• Allergic to echinacea, sage, peanuts, soya or any of the ingredients in the product
• Pregnant
• Breastfeeding
• Using immunosuppressant medication

• Rash in the mouth and a burning sensation of the throat
• Allergic reactions, including skin reactions

Venaforce^® may be used by adults (over 18 years of age) seeking a herbal treatment for symptoms of varicose veins.

Dosage: Take 1 tablet twice daily immediately after food.

Venaforce^® is for oral use only. Tablets should be swallowed whole. Do not take more than the recommended dose. Taking too much is unlikely to be harmful.

Who can’t take Venaforce^®?

• Do not use this herbal treatment if you are allergic to Horse Chestnut (Aesculus hippocastannum) seed
• Do not use if you are pregnant or breast feeding
• If your symptoms worsen, or you do not feel any benefit from the treatment within 2 weeks, talk to your doctor
• Do not use Venaforce^® if you are allergic to peanut or soya
• Varicose leg ulcers can arise on your lower legs as a result of varicose veins. If you suffer from leg ulcers or notice them developing, you must see your doctor before starting or continuing to use this product

Venaforce^® contains an extract obtained from Horse Chestnut seeds in the form of a gastro-resistant herbal tablet.

One tablet contains 157.5-225.0mg of extract (as dry extract) from fresh Horse Chestnut seeds (Aesculus hippocastanum L. semen) corresponding to 50mg triterpene glycosides, calculated as anhydrous ß-aescin.

This product also contains soya polysaccharide. Do not use if you are allergic to peanut or soya.

Like all medicines, this product can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

Minor side effects: The following minor side effects can occur when using this product. These are uncommon and likely to affect between 1 in every 1,000 and 1 in every 100 people.

• Digestive symptoms such as: feeling sick, stomach discomfort, wind, diarrhoea
• Skin reactions such as: itching, rash, red, itchy spots (urticaria)

Discontinue use if you find these are troubling you. Talk to a doctor, pharmacist or other healthcare advisor if you are concerned.

St. John’s wort (Hypericum perforatum) is a perennial plant indigenous to Europe. It is named for its tendency to flower and be harvested around the 24th of June which is St. John’s day. Traditionally the plant was used to ward off evil – it was hung over religious icons round the house on St. John’s day.

Whilst the St. John’s wort plant is seen by many as beautiful and graces many ornamental gardens, it is also viewed as a noxious weed that is toxic in pasture land in many countries where it has been introduced.

Directions for use:
Apply sparingly to the affected area.

Hypericum perforatum and Helianthus annus (Sunflower Oil).

Dandelion has a long tap root and many who have tried to weed it out of gardens or flower beds will be familiar with how difficult it is to get the whole root out of the ground. When dried, dandelion root has been used to make coffee substitutes. Dandelion leaves can be eaten raw, in salads.

Dandelion root and leaves have also been used for centuries in healthcare. The Arabian physicians extolled the virtues of dandelion as early as the tenth and eleventh centuries and in the 13th century the Welsh recognised its beneficial properties.

It is then no wonder that Alfred Vogel thought so highly of the use of dandelion root and leaves – to this day it is treated with great respect.
